These batteries are backed by free replacement warranties, and like all of Exides other Technologies products, these batteries are made with recycled lead and plastic. At the end of their service lives, you can send them back to their distribution center to be recycled.
Automotive Exide Orbital Batteries
In July of 2002, Exide expanded its technologically advanced Orbital product line to include four other batteries. One of the Exide Orbital batteries put on the market was the Exide Select Orbital automotive starting, marine starting and marine deep cycle batteries. This sealed, valve-regulated lead-acid battery provides an unparalleled, deep cycle power for high energy automotive applications.
The Exide Select Orbital XCD battery was designed to complement a vehicles starting battery, and features a highly efficient design of spiral-wound plates that are combined with absorbed glass mat lead-acid chemistry. The Orbital technology is known to produce a battery with twice the life of a conventional battery and safety features that allow it to be located anywhere in the vehicle. The features of the Orbital XCD battery include a longer charge retention and quick rechargeability while accepting a higher charge current.
These batteries were patented through-the-partition (TTP) intercell welds and offer 17xs more vibration resistance than conventional flooded batteries. The sealed design means that the battery is spill-proof, wont freeze and can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle–on its side, upright, in the engine or the passenger compartment. It is a very versatile, and has dual terminal design, which allows for it to fit into a larger number of vehicle types.
